There are two (2) hospitals in the town, one private, Emil Joanna General Hospital and a public hospital, Dona Marta Memorial District Hospital. The Rural Health Unit stationed at the Poblacion and nine (9) health centers in the rural areas provide satellite health services.

There is a well established and complete educational facilities - twenty six (26) public elementary schools; four (4) private schools; five (5) national barangay high school, two (2) colleges, one preparatory school; fifteen (15) public and five (5) private preparatory schools. No wonder it registered a high literacy rate of 95.28%.

Twenty three (23) our of forty two (42) barangays in the municipality have day care centers. There are also active programs on child and youth welfare, women, family and community, disabled persons, and elderly.

There are four (4) developed private subdivisions, a core housing project and the proposed Municipal Employees Housing Project supported by the local government.

Balagtas Sports Complex and Rizal Campus serve as the center of sports activities in Atimonan. There is also a park in front of the Roman Catholic Church, one (1) theatre, four (4) beach resorts, three (3) hotels, restaurants, videoke bars and billiard halls.

Peace and Order situation is being maintained by 32 policemen housed near the Municipal Building and auxiliary protective services provided by Barangay Police, Bantay Bayan and Kabalikat Civicom. Crime rate is 1.32% as of January 2003.
